Salt is most commonly applied to the roads in the wintertime to melt ice, and it can do damage to your engine and paint job if you don't clean it regularly.

Here are some ways you can prevent salt from damaging your car::

  • Apply a ceramic coating or wax to the paint job

Regularly applying wax will help prevent the dirt, salt and UV rays from damaging the paint

  • Degrease engine regularly

Use a degreasing agent and a pressure washer to clean off your engine regularly.

  • Frequently remove hard water spots

Salt may cause hard water spots to form on your car, and there are a few ways to remove them.

First, you could try rubbing white vinegar on the surface using a microfiber towel. If the white vinegar doesn't work, you can try an electric buffer and some polishing compound to correct the paint.
