Watch out, world. Mercedes-Benz predicts that self-driven, highly intelligent vehicles will take the road in the near future. Our preferred automaker created a spaceship-like prototype for the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion concept, to show their vision of what transportation will look like in 2030:
The cabin features swivel seating for four and the dashboard is one continuous digital screen. Screens in the vehicle's interior project the intended route, music selections, images, and other information, which can be controlled by gestures or touch.
The vehicle's autonomous driving capability is powered by stereo cameras, radar, and sensors, as well as highly-accurate GPS data and 3D navigation to ensure the vehicle's location can be tracked to the exact centimeter. LED lights that accent the prototype turn blue when the vehicle is being piloted autonomously and white when the vehicle is being driven manually.
