Mercedes-Benz has a new CUV about to arrive at the Milford, DE showroom of i.g. Burton & Co Inc. this fall and we have a few specs to share about this smaller-stature crossover.
First off, the GLA-Class Crossover will be the first of its kind from the luxury automaker. It will be around 3 inches narrower than the current GLK-Class and about 5 inches shorter. The first glimpse of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class came a few months ago at the Shanghai Auto Show in China. This concept carried some features that were never bound for the final production model but were quite intriguing nevertheless. Huge 20-inch wheels, futuristic movie projector headlamps and recessed door handles have been removed but a great wealth of features remain.
As far as power is concerned, the new small CUV will be powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 208-hp, which is rather tiny compared to most Mercedes-Benz engines. Drivers can choose two-wheel drive or opt for 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, and the engine is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Despite its size, the little engine can still reach zero-to-sixty in a quick 6.4 seconds.
Pricing hasn't yet been announced for the vehicle but as we draw closer to the arrival date check back on the I.G. Burton MB blog often. We'll be ready to share additional details like whether a diesel engine option is forthcoming.
